Kathina as she is locally known in her ward has been needy all her life. Growing up in abject poverty, Grace Kathina's greatest ambition  was to become a tailor and then a Kaweto. She also loved mandazi as a needy child, this explains why later in life, she put up a mandazi kiosk at Kunda Kindu to stay with her childhood desires.

In adult life, Grace Kathina is also needy and a loner. She hardly speaks in the assembly where she sits dazed and lost, perhaps fantasizing about the aroma of mandazi from her kiosk.
Hers is a case of a typical villager who can't outgrow villagehood.

Grace is an easy meal to municipality cartels who like jettisoning her around, either in fake deals where she is conned dry due to her gullibility, or worse. The 36kg woman is also a practicing froth taker.
Trusting Kathina for anything beneficial to mwananchi is a waste of time. She is gullible, naïve and overly needy.

Payment of land rates   No Criminal Encroacher should attempt to Grab Dr Malombe's legally acquired land Our Reporter   Governor Julius Malombe, as a private citizen, has the legal rights to own land anywhere in the Country. The fact that he owns a parcel of land within Kitui Municipality should not be a strange thing to anyone. However, what is concerning is when another individual attempts to criminally encroach on and grab Dr Malombe's piece of land, in the hope that he will keep quiet just because he is the governor. This is the most warped thinking ever, and it is anchored on blackmail.  The plot in question is legally owned by Dr Julius Makau Malombe. It was legally allotted to him over 30 years ago. And as a law abiding citizen, Malombe has been faithfully and legally paying land rates for the said piece of land since that time to date!
