Ngilu Runs Out Of Creativity, Copies Hon Kasalu’s Ideas

It is evident that failed and outgoing Kaluki Ngilu has run out of ideas. The juakali governor who is facing an imminent loss at the ballot is now doing patch up works in a bid to fool and confuse the bitter electorate. Sadly for her, her lies can be detected miles away.

Evidence of this lack of ideas and creativity is the recent helter skelter mad rush to schools by Ngilu and her band of unmotivated CECs and COs in the pretext of offering mentorship to pupils and students. On top of this, the terrified Ngilu is also dishing out meager bursaries to students, a clear mockery to education.

The mentorship programme in schools that includes Motivational talks and Career guidance for students is an idea of Kitui Woman Rep Irene Kasalu, also known as Mama Miradi which she started sometimes last year and has been ongoing for several months now. Besides this, Kasalu through NGAAF has also been issuing bursaries to needy and deserving students across the county. Schools girls also benefit from sanitary pads and under garments.

A good number of the deserving students identified by the office of the Woman Rep have benefited from full secondary school education sponsorship.

Kasalu’s school mentorship programme is also well organized and elaborate. It brings along professional career advisors and where applicable, counselors.

The Office of the Woman Rep has a full list of beneficiaries who are either in secondary schools or in technical institutions. Some are pursuing courses under NITA while others are pursuing university education.

Now let us look at Ngilu’s copycat initiative. It is a complete mockery to education and reeks of incompetence.

First of all the outgoing governor is issuing the so called bursaries to any student - both needy and underserving cases. The implication of this is that vulnerable students still risk dropping out due to lack of fees.

“Imagine a student getting Sh2000 as bursary. What can that do? The governor is just a joker and doesn’t know the meaning of education. Her initiative is foolish to say the least,” a KNUT official who opted to remain anonymous remarked.

“Bursaries and scholarships are meant to academically empower those who are needy and vulnerable. When you give somebody 2000 shillings how is that empowerment?” wondered the KNUT official.

The outgoing Ngilu is seemingly playing foolish and euphoric politics with the bursary kitty.

“She wants to whip up public emotions and hope to be seen to be working after mismanaging and running down the county for the last three years. It is a compete act of buffoonery,” stated Zacharia Muema, a public commentator.

Where Kasalu would bring in professionals and career advisors to guide and mentor the young ones, Ngilu is dispatching a clueless band of officers who only harass the puzzled students for selfies.

“ii ni bursary ya governor, musome na bidii mutwike mangavana, nimukwenda kutwika ngavana?” one clueless officer was heard telling students as a way of mentorship.

Avoid Ngilu and her tasteless shenanigans.
