Wamaiyu In Grief: Son Dies In The US Following Road Crash

Sheria and his wife Hannah Ege

The family of Kamba traditional singer Musyoka Wamaiyu is in deep mourning. This follows the death of Wamaiyu's son named Sheria Musyoka who was killed in a road accident in San Francisco, United States of America on Thursday.

Sheria, a Kenyan immigrant was living and working in San Francisco after completing his college studies at Dartmouth College.

Scores of other people were also injured in the road collision that involved 8 vehicles, according to our top moles in the San Francisco state.

Sheria who went to the US on a scholarship leaves behind a mzungu wife and a son who is 3 years old. Sheria loved his family dearly if the photos shared to us by our moles in the US are anything to go by.

At the accident scene, federal police officers found the 26-year-old Sheria lying in a pool of blood. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police, after being ran over by one of the collision cars.

Sheria had just graduated from Dartmouth College and had just received his green card to permanently reside in the US.

His wife Hanna Ege, a special education teacher described Sheria as a fun filled personality with  empathetic nature:

"Sheria was the most authentic person, unashamed of being himself at all times. One second he would be a total goofball and another he would be philosophical. He was empathetic and compassionate. He had a lot of plans for life and he wanted to do really big things. He worked harder for those things than anyone else I've ever known, overcoming obstacles that most people don't have to face. He loved his son more than anyone else and couldn't wait to teach him to speak Swahili and to play soccer, his favorite sport. He didn't deserve to die, especially like that," the widow said.

Musyoka Wamaiyu who comes from Mitamisyi in Mwingi North is a reknown Kamba vocalist who is known more for his traditional Kamba songs that are laced with political undertones.

He also served as the chairman of Mwingi county council after being nominated as a councillor 3 times by Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Our deepest condolences to Wamaiyu and his family during this trying moment.
