Matinyani Ward MCA Sylvester Munyalo alias Yaamu who is also the Minority party Whip in the Assembly has rubbished the blackmail impeachment motion against Finance, Economic Planning and Revenue Management  CEC-M Peter Kilonzo Tangawizi.

Speaking today (Sunday) in his ward, Yaamu dismissed the motion as an evil scheme hatched by Speaker Kinengo Katisya to intimidate and blackmail Governor Malombe.

Yaamu said he will whip his troops on Wednesday to defeat the blackmail motion even as he heaped praises on Governor Malombe for his remarkable service delivery.

"We will defeat the evil Speaker on Wednesday. I'm calling him evil because he is. Tangawizi will remain to be a minister because he has done nothing wrong," Hon Yaamu vowed in a speech that has received massive support from Kitui residents.

He described the Speaker as greedy, alluding to the demands by Speaker Kinengo to demand a full Ksh190 million for the construction of MCAs Bunge Tower offices in Kitui town when the collosal amount cannot be utilized before the close of the Financial Year.

Yaamu explained that the Assembly does not need the Ksh190 million in lumpsum as demanded by Katisya, and lauded Governor Malombe for allocating Ksh90 million for the project for 2024/2025 Financial Year.

"We don't need the 190 million in one batch. That amount cannot he absorbed  before the close of the Financial Year. These are schemes of corruption and they must end. It is all about greed for kickbacks," the fiery MCA declared.

He said it was wise for Governor Malombe to re-allocate the Ksh100 million for Bunge Tower to other pressing needs, since the funds will remain unutilized anyway.

Yaamu called for protection of Kitui County residents against rogue leadership in the Assembly where a few MCAs appear to be blinded by the Speaker's selfish motives and manipulative spell.

The leader commended Governor Malombe for returning the Supplementary Budget 1 to the House with a memorandum and called on well meaning MCAs to quicky adopt the memorandum in order to unlock the service delivery stalemate.

"Our people need development and service delivery. The only way to achieve this is by working hand in hand with Governor Malombe," Yaamu added, saying it is a foolish idea trying to wreck the County Executive.

Yaamu's remarks comes hot on the heels of those made by his senior in the House, Minority Leader Alex Nganga who advised the few misguided Wiper MCAs to tone down on their blind politicking and support Governor Malombe's agenda.
