Relief for Kidney Patients as County Establishes Modern Renal Centre

Governor Julius Malombe's administration has stepped in to strengthen care for kidney patients in the county by establishing a modern renal centre of excellence.
The centre, which is nearing completion at KCRH is a major milestone expected to significantly expand access to specialized treatment in South Eastern Kenya Bloc.
The facility, the first of its kind within SEKEB will ease the burden on kidney patients who previously had to travel long distances to access dialysis and other renal care services.
The County joined the world today in marking the 20th edition of World Kidney Day at Kitui County Referral Hospital under the theme 'Kidney Health for All'
The event brought together residents, health professionals and development partners in a campaign aimed at raising awareness about kidney health and promoting early screening for kidney-related illnesses.
Chief Officer for Drugs & Medical Supplies Mutinda Kamba led the event in the company of top health officials.
Kamba emphasized the County Government’s commitment to strengthening specialized healthcare services and preventing lifestyle related diseases such as hypertension and diabetes that contribute to kidney complications.
According to Medical Experts, early detection remains one of the most effective ways of preventing kidney ailments.
