CORNERED: Ngilu Praises Skymoon, Verbally Sacks Clueless Officers

Majority of Kitui county government workers are living in fear and worry. Our interviews with scores of county workers established a freaky, disgruntled and fearful lot. The officers, both senior and junior have no idea when the failed governor will lash at them - with insults and catcalls and calling them names.

“The governor is lately at war with everybody my brother. She is brooding and easy to anger. She has become a tyrant …she is confronting and insulting everybody for this or that reason” whispered a deputy director who is one of our part time moles at the juakali mbee nzei government.

“She thinks we are the reason for her unpopularity. She doesn’t want to admit that for three good years she has not done any projects that resonate with the people. Her biggest project is Kicotec and nobody relates with it except for a few thieves and looters” the worried director continued.

Just three days ago, Ngilu summoned an entire team from one of the departments and demanded to know what they were doing to ensure she is popular and liked by the voters. She wondered why she was paying a whole brigade yet her popularity continues to plummet dangerously.

“What do you do here you people? What is your work? I am being bashed left and right but you seem to think all is well? Why should I continue paying you….?” Ngilu, wearing her signature drooping yet bulging eyes thundered to the terrified gang. In utter mock gesture, she surveyed the officers and singled out one whom she seemed to hate most.

“Look at you, are you not silly. you are an idiot and a fool…, wait, you are so fat, are you a butcherman” Ngilu mocked the hapless boy as the other officers bend backwards to muffle laughter.  Then verbally she claimed to have sacked the entire lot.

“Skymoon has run us out of town yet you are idling here. If I knew the Skymoon team I won’t even think twice before replacing you with them…hao ndio watu wanajua kazi…kila mtu anasoma Skymoon, nyinyi mnasomwa wapi? She fumed.

A chief officer who spoke to Skymoon desk confided in us that the outgoing governor is angered by her dwindling political fortunes and wonders why both senior and junior officers cannot sell her to the Kitui population.

Laughably, the CO told us that even in cabinet meetings, they have found a clever way to pass the back and blame others in order to survive the queen’s wrath.

“For a good number of us, we have directed all the blame to the communication team. We know the boys are innocent because there is nothing to communicate about but everyone must guard their jobs brother. Let the boys also find their own scapegoat…” said the senior officer while laughing.

“Even if you were to go to the ground, how would you convince people to vote for Ngilu again? People want to see water projects, roads, functional health facilities etc but they cant see any of those. You cant tell them about Kicotec because they quickly respond that Kicotec is a Kitui central ward project and even the tailors employed there are not paid. It is difficult selling Ngilu’s candidature anywhere, and that’s a fact” the CO observed matter of factly.

Majority of Ngilu;s officers have transferred their loyalty and have already mobilized their families to vote out the rogue woman who has messed up the county.

"I am working there but i can't vote for her. None of my family members can vote for her again, and we are many. I guess she has realized this because she has become so quarrelsome and hateful" another officer working at the office of the governor told us.

It looks like Ngilu's fall will be thunderous. We just hope she will have the decency to fall while fully clothed.
