What started trickling slowly as a small rumour has boomeranged to a major national story with catastrophic consequences.

That rejected Ngilu used her minister Kyalo Watutu to feed evicted Mumoni squatters expired and poisoned Unga has left a bad taste in the greater population of Mwingi, and the entire Kitui puzzled.

The bitter residents who are still battling diarrhoea, dizziness, dehydration and cracking skin are still shell shocked. They have now demanded total apology from the Juakali government and reparations for crimes against humanity.

It is no wonder that a lawyer from Mwingi North who is gunning for a parliamentary seat has offered to act for the victims and sue the Governor, the negligent CEC and the county government for crimes against humanity, willful poisoning of population and premeditated potential genocide.

"It is true we are going to the court, this is a matter of grave public interest that cannot go unpunished. We shall be seeking that the county government compensates the sick victims who number about 90 percent of those who received the poisoned maize flour" the lawyer told our desk. 

The residents currently camping in the bush have also demanded that the Governor organises and funds a Medical Camp to clean their systems of the poison. While this is happening, the suspect minister has found solace in village WhatsApp bandits and gutter blogs to play down the gravity of the matter.. The victims have however vowed to lynch him should he set foot in their locality again.

The outgoing governor has marginalized Mwingi region since assuming office.

Payment of land rates   No Criminal Encroacher should attempt to Grab Dr Malombe's legally acquired land Our Reporter   Governor Julius Malombe, as a private citizen, has the legal rights to own land anywhere in the Country. The fact that he owns a parcel of land within Kitui Municipality should not be a strange thing to anyone. However, what is concerning is when another individual attempts to criminally encroach on and grab Dr Malombe's piece of land, in the hope that he will keep quiet just because he is the governor. This is the most warped thinking ever, and it is anchored on blackmail.  The plot in question is legally owned by Dr Julius Makau Malombe. It was legally allotted to him over 30 years ago. And as a law abiding citizen, Malombe has been faithfully and legally paying land rates for the said piece of land since that time to date!
