Governor Malombe Steps In: Relief for Evicted Mutha Families

Thangilani IDPs receive humanitarian aid from Governor Malombe's administration   Our Reporter   Governor Malombe's administration has heard the distress call made by evicted Mutha residents and promptly responded to it. On Thursday, the 39 families displaced after recent banditry attacks in Musenge Village, Mutha Ward received emergency relief that included food stuffs like maize, rice, beans, and cooking oil to cushion them from hunger and more suffering. To further alleviate their suffering, the county also distributed 20-litre jerricans, buckets, soap, dignity kits for women and girls and even blankets. The county administration also ensured access to clean and consumable water to the displaced residents who are squatting in a forest after their houses were torched and granaries put on fire.   Two 10,000-litre water tanks were erected to serve the over 200 people among them women, children and the elderly with water bowsers deployed to replenish them.  The m...

Governor Picks Top Candidates for Key County Jobs

Governor Malombe during presser on top job vetting  Our Reporter   Governor Julius Malombe has forwarded three names to the County Assembly for vetting and possible appointment to key county positions. The three nominees are Agness Mulewa for County Secretary, Timothy Kyalo for County Attorney, and Christopher Okumu  for secretary; County Public Service Board.  "I have forwarded the names to the Assembly for vetting. The Assembly will do what they normally do and give me feedback, " the Governor said. The top county jobs attracted a huge number of applicants, with 28 vying for the County Secretary position, 11 for County Attorney, and 24 for Public Service Secretary. After the interviews, the panel shortlisted only the top two candidates in each category. Governor Malombe clarified that only the highest ranked candidates from the interviews were forwarded for vetting.
