Governor Malombe's administration has heard the distress call made by evicted Mutha residents and promptly responded to it.

On Thursday, the 39 families displaced after recent banditry attacks in Musenge Village, Mutha Ward received emergency relief that included food stuffs like maize, rice, beans, and cooking oil to cushion them from hunger and more suffering.

To further alleviate their suffering, the county also distributed 20-litre jerricans, buckets, soap, dignity kits for women and girls and even blankets.

The county administration also ensured access to clean and consumable water to the displaced residents who are squatting in a forest after their houses were torched and granaries put on fire.

Two 10,000-litre water tanks were erected to serve the over 200 people among them women, children and the elderly with water bowsers deployed to replenish them.

The mission to deploy the humanitarian aid was overseen by top County Government officers who included the CECM for finance Peter Kilonzo Tangawizi and Chief Officers Gladys Kivoto (Agriculture and Fisheries), Stephen Salee (Decentralised Units), and Francisca Kyuii (Disaster Management).

"We want to thank our Governor Dr Malombe for responding to our suffering. We also urge the national government to ensure our security so that we can go back to our homes," said Kamene Nzumbi, one of the internally displaced people who fled from Thangilani area with her 12 family members.
