Governor Julius Malombe has forwarded three names to the County Assembly for vetting and possible appointment to key county positions.
The three nominees are Agness Mulewa for County Secretary, Timothy Kyalo for County Attorney, and Christopher Okumu for secretary; County Public Service Board.
"I have forwarded the names to the Assembly for vetting. The Assembly will do what they normally do and give me feedback," the Governor said.
The top county jobs attracted a huge number of applicants, with 28 vying for the County Secretary position, 11 for County Attorney, and 24 for Public Service Secretary.
After the interviews, the panel shortlisted only the top two candidates in each category.
Governor Malombe clarified that only the highest ranked candidates from the interviews were forwarded for vetting.
"The names I have forwarded to the Assembly are for only those who were ranked number one," he explained.
The Governor will now await the Assembly's report on the suitability of the candidates before making the final appointments.
The three positions were publicly advertised in the Daily Nation and Standard newspapers, thus affording a chance to all qualified individuals to apply.
"The nominations are consistent with the values and principles of our constitution and fairness," he added.
