Don't Bend Sand Regulation Law to Favour Cartels

Image
OPINION Let us not tinker with the Sand Regulation Law to benefit a cabal of cartels India's famous anti colonial activist Mohandas K. Gandhi is famous for his saying that ' The earth has enough (resources) to satisfy every man's needs but not every man's greed.' Granted, Kitui County is known for some of vast pockets of renewable resources such as Sand due to its countless number of seasonal rivers and streams. The debate has always been; If this resource is harvested and utilized sustainably, in a well structured environment, then it would play three critical roles. 1. The Sand Sector will create jobs and opportunities for thousands of local youths who are jobless. 2. The County Government would earn revenue from the resource, which revenue would then be invested to offer services/development to county residents. 3. There would be enough sand for both home use and commercial purposes, thus, even the middlemen would have a share of the cake. It would be a win w...

Governor Malombe Hogs Public Limelight for Best Performance

Image
By Our Reporter   When Kitui county residents went to the polls and elected Governor Julius Malombe, they were looking for a development conscious person who would lift the county from the bottomless pit where it had been thrown by Kaluki Ngilu and her bandits. Overwhelmingly, the county residents voted for Dr Malombe and ignored the other pretenders who were soiling the governor's ballot paper. And today the county residents are being vindicated. Governor Malombe is being cited among the very top governors across the country in terms of performance, just one year down the line. In the very latest opinion poll conducted by Infrotrak, Governor Malombe has posted an above average rating of 63%, a strong signal that the county is in safe hands. And the residents are excited.  "By the Time Infotrak releases another Survey, Kitui will have risen two-fold. We are done with the obstacles of development. For the next one year we shall sail through. It will be Kyuma leading the park .F...

MCAs plan Meeting with Governor Malombe tomorrow to Unlock Budget Deadlock Our Reporter   Members of Kitui County Assembly have called for a meeting with Governor Julius Malombe tomorrow (Monday 22rd) to seek the way forward in unlocking the budget stalemate. Through a communiqué issued by the Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo, all the MCAs are expected to assemble at Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) on Monday starting at 4pm. The meeting which is expected to discuss more on the county budget is expected to go late into the evening. Members of the executive will also be in attendance. The budget deadlock has made the county development agenda stagnate temporarily as members of the public pile pressure on the MCAs to do their bit in approving the budget. The residents are eager to see Governor Malombe roll out his development plan across the county and have asked the MCAs to partner with the executive for service delivery to be realized. " We have confidence in Govern...

Open Letter to Speaker Kinengo and MCAs

Image
Kinengo Katisya   Greetings, ladies and gentlemen of the House. Today we want to address you from a different standpoint; that of neutrality and sobriety.  By now you must have reconciled with the idea that you are running the second arm of the County Government. It should also worry you that among the 47 County Assemblies in Kenya, yours is the most chaotic and divisive. And valid questions are being asked out here.  When you were sworn in, the majority of you being youth in the full meaning of the word, Kitui residents expected that you will channel your energy towards making Kitui better. This expectation was valid because for the last 5 years, our beloved county had been vandalized and brought to its knees by the merciless economic vandals who operated the infamous mbee nzei regime.  You will also remember that Governor Julius Malombe was elected back on a strong wave of public approval and confidence. The people had seen and resonated with his development recor...

REVEALED: Why Ngilu, Nganga & Katisya Want a Weak Wiper

Image
Deputy Speaker Christopher Nzilu  Our Investigator   The heightened political activity at the county assembly of Kitui can now be brought to the fore by your trusted and truthful blog. Recently, there have been activities meant to muzzle the majority party in the House - Wiper - a move that curiously has the support of Speaker Kinengo Katisya and the main opposition party; Narc. But the truth of the matter is that Katisya is just a pawn in the political game which is being played by Kaluki Ngilu (Narc leader)  through her hatchet man, Miambani MCA Alex Nganga. During a recent meeting held at a Nairobi Hotel and attended by Speaker Katisya, Nganga, Majority leader Harrison Maluki and Majority Whip Katula, and which meeting was sponsored by Kaluki, it was decided that the Deputy Speaker Christopher Nzilu (Wiper) should be impeached.  In his place, the clandestine meeting agreed, Nzilu also known as Lion should be replaced with a malleable MCA who can kowtow to Katisya ...

NETTED: DPP to Charge Ngilu With High Level Corruption

Image
Kaluki faces a jail term  Our Investigator   Former Kitui governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu is set to be arraigned in court and charged with high level corruption after months of investigations carried out by the EACC. According to our moles at the anti graft agency, investigations into Ngilu's corruption scandals have been concluded and her file has been forwarded to the DPP (Director of Public Prosecutions) to charge her in  a court of law. The EACC has established that Ngilu plundered billions of public funds when she served as the unfortunate  governor of Kitui for five years, during which time she amassed illegal, personal  wealth and entrenched looting cartels in the county who pilfered public resources as if the world was coming to an end. According to EACC records seen by our top mole,  Ngilu's looting style included introducing ghost workers into the county's payroll to siphon public funds, fraudulent procurements and looting of local revenue as well a...
