REVEALED: Why Bodaboda Men Are Afraid of Nimrod Mbai Ahead Of Ruto's Visit Next Week

 


Disquiet is simmering in the Hustler Nation Movement, Kitui county chapter ahead of Ruto's visit on Thursday, next week after it emerged that Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai is craftily positioning himself as the defacto negotiator for the bodaboda operators. 

DP Ruto, carrying hundreds of motorbikes and wheelbarrows will be jetting into the county on next week purposely to fund-raise for the bodaboda operators and give them a kick in their economic status. The event was to be held Thursday this week but has been pushed to next week to pave way for the state burial of reknown lawyer and katiba maker; Nzamba Kitonga who will be laid to rest in Mutitu on Saturday. 

It is this high voltage Ruto visit that has seen well known conmen crawl out of the woodwork to position themselves to swindle the DP on the pretext of representing interest groups. 

Majority of the bodaboda men who spoke to our desk are categorical that they don't want to be auctioned at the alter of brokerage. 

The operators who expect goodies from the DP are categorical that Nimrod cannot represent their interests.

“He might be a supporter of the Hustler Movement but we don't want him to purport to represent bodaboda operators. We have our leadership hierarchy that will represent us. He is free to represent his MCAs" warned Evans Makau, a bodaboda man operating from Kunda Kindu. 

"Nimrod Mbai will not represent us. He will not talk on our behalf. He will not receive anything on our behalf. We have our leaders, let him keep to his lane" Mutia Ndavi, another operator based at Kalundu charged.

A majority of Kitui youth brigade has also warned Mbai against purporting to represent them during the meeting, with some dismissing the MP as a certified broker and decorated conman. 

"The MP is a broker by profession and a swindler of colour and repute" posted one youngster. 

Thousands of Ruto supporters in the county have endorsed Hon Moses Banda as the legitimate representative of the Hustler Nation, having been elected as the county coordinator by all stakeholders.

Banda, a revered grassroots mobilizer is the chief organizer of the Ruto event that will see the DP also visit Mwingi town to dole out goodies to local hustlers.

    Some elected fellows purport to support Ruto yet unlike the youth, they are just after the goodies from Ruto.

The fact that he owns a parcel of land within Kitui Municipality should not be a strange thing to anyone. However, what is concerning is when another individual attempts to criminally encroach on and grab Dr Malombe's piece of land, in the hope that he will keep quiet just because he is the governor. This is the most warped thinking ever, and it is anchored on blackmail.  The plot in question is legally owned by Dr Julius Makau Malombe. It was legally allotted to him over 30 years ago.
