A doctor who attended to Kaluki Ngilu before she was airlifted to Nairobi on Sunday for critical care attention at a top city hospital has recounted how a team of medics fought to keep the governor breathing after her oxygen levels hit an all time low. According to the medic who confided in our trusted mole, the governor's oxygen levels had dropped to between 70 and 75  percent and she was struggling to breath. With no oxygen anywhere in Kitui county health facilities, the life of the governor was on the line. The medics who had been keeping a close watch of the governor since Thursday when she reportedly fell ill had tried to nurse her at home with a regimen of drugs. But when her oxygen levels began to deteriorate, the medics knew the situation could easily get out of hand. Embattled Kaluki Ngilu has been medically airlifted to Nairobi for treatment after collapsing at her Ithookwe home. This is according to our highly placed and trusted moles who have been close to the outgoing governor since Thursday when she reportedly fell sick. Yesterday however, her condition deteriorated prompting her close allies to summon an Air Ambulance  to airlift her for treatment.
