In his efforts to make Kitui water secure and strengthen healthcare access, Governor Malombe has commissioned key development projects in Kitui West, delivering both clean water and improved health services to thousands of residents.
Of these is the Kaayo–Kwa Mulungu Sumpwell Water Project, which is a solar-powered investment designed to guarantee reliable water supply to communities in Kwa Mulungu, Wayani and Kalindilo.
The water project features a sump well, high-capacity pump, elevated storage tanks, distribution pipelines, water kiosks and sanitation facilities.
It will serve more than 2,000 residents, including schools and other public institutions, significantly easing the burden of water scarcity in the area.
The county administration under Governor Malombe has also drilled and equipped the Kithumula Secondary School Borehole and the Kalindilo Borehole to supplement the Masinga water supply system.
In the meantime, desilting works at the Kwa Musyoka/Kwa Malonza earth dam are now 65 per cent complete, while the Kalimbevo pipeline extension has been finalized.
Health matters
On healthcare, Governor Malombe has commissioned the Kilimu Dispensary in Kithumula Kwa Mutonga Ward.
The health facility, whose construction had stalled for years, has now been completed under his administration, bringing essential health services closer to residents.
County Health and Sanitation minister Ruth Koki announced the installation of theatre equipment at Kauwi Level IV Hospital, a move set to enhance surgical capacity and service delivery in the region.
Governor Malombe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding access to clean water, improving healthcare services and uplifting the quality of life for the people of Kitui County.
