BODAs, Motorists Blame Ngilu's Cartel For Shoddy Road Workmanship

Bodaboda operators and Motorists in Kitui town Thursday staged a major protest over the poor and shoddy road workmanship that is being undertaken by Ngilu's son through a proxy cartel contractor called Kamau alias Kanda.

The road from Mumoni to Kaveta junction is in deplorable state. It is the worst piece of road passing through a major town this side of Sahara.

The road is financed by World bank at Sh200 Million. The tender was awarded to Ngilu's son through Kamau alias Kanda to siphon the funds.

In their bid to steal, the cartels have done a shoddy work that has left everybody including mama mbogas angered. The road has no kerbs for motorists to pull over in case one wants to buy vegetables and there are no parkings. The road also has no drainage to take care of storm waters neither does it have provision for pavements to allow bodaboda men pick and drop passengers.

"It is shambolic work. Upuzi mtupu" regretted Allan Mwikya, a bodaboda rider. Business people also complain of thick clouds of dust that has made customers stay away from their premises.

The money that would have gone to the proper design of the road has been looted by the cartels led by the outgoing governor.

Alone, she pocketed a whooping Ksh110m while Kanda run away with 60 million.

Kanda is well known in the circles of corruption at Mbee Nzei for posting dubious claims of fuel from his filling station running into millions of shillings. Once this illicit money is paid, it is shared between Kanda and other cartels at the department of LIHUD.

The protesting bodaboda operators later besieged the failed governor in her office where she consoled them with handouts of 100 shillings each and some cartons of alcohol. They however agreed that her time is up and she must be shown the door.

"Huyu mama ni bure sana. Ameshindwa na kazi kabisa. Sinema tupu na utapeli" shouted another operator. Check the video attached below...
