Wiper Poll Leaves Musila, Kiema Shocked As Malombe Takes Unassailable Lead

Wiper scientific poll

THE Wiper secretariat under the leadership of the party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has held a party consultative meeting whose aim was to scrutinize the results of a scientific opinion poll that was commissioned by the party a month ago to determine who among the three aspirants is more popular.

The three aspirants seeking to fly the Wiper flag for Kitui gubernatorial race; Dr Julius Malombe, David Musila & Kiema Kilonzo were invited to the meeting to be briefed on the findings of the poll.

The meeting was critical in the sense that Wiper party wants to front the most popular candidate in the 3 counties of Ukambani where the party leadership is pushing for a negotiated consensus, and where the unpopular aspirants will be asked to drop their bids.

The poll findings which have been communicated to the three Kitui aspirants and which have been availed to our desk show Dr Malombe in an unassailable lead with 60 % followed distantly by David Musila who polled at 21 %. Kiema Kilonzo has performed dismally polling at 8%, an indicator that he is unpopular in all regions of Kitui and cannot deliver the seat under whatever circumstances even if given the ticket on a sliver platter!

The Wiper poll also factored in incumbent Ngilu and Jonathan Mueke who are also in the race. Ngilu scored 9 % percent while Mueke managed a paltry 1%. There is also 1 % for the undecided voters.

According to the poll, which attracted respondents from all 8 constituencies & 40 wards of the county, the voters have trust and faith in Dr Malombe who is shown as the people's favourite and would easily deliver the seat without breaking a sweat.

According to our sources privy to the meeting discussions, the other Wiper aspirants were politely asked to drop their bid and support the popular candidate while solidifying the party.

The sources however told our desk that the meeting that lasted for several hours ended in a stalemate as the stubborn Musila remained adamant, saying his advisors had prevailed on him to be on the ballot by all means.

On his part, Kiema claimed he has spent money running some campaign events, adding that he is a new comer to the race.

This was however quashed as immaterial since Kiema contested for governor in 2013 and lost miserably.

He was also reminded that his said events have yielded nothing interms of propping up his non existent popularity.

The aspirants will be invited again soon for another meeting meant to build consensus.
