From Vision to Reality: Governor Malombe Delivers Kasakini Dam

The completion of Kasakini Earth Dam in Kauwi Ward, Kitui West, marks another milestone by Governor Dr. Julius Malombe to make Kitui water secure. 


The project reflects the County Government’s commitment to sustainable water access for communities as captured by Governor Malombe's manifesto.


The earth dam is among 15 similar water projects currently being implemented by the Kitui County Department of Water and Irrigation across the county. Making the county water secure has been at the core of Governor Malombe's vision. 


"These projects are aimed at strengthening water security, supporting livelihoods and cushioning residents against drought" remarked County Minister for Water and Irrigation, Peter Nkunda during an inspection of the life changing water project. 


He urged residents to protect the facility from vandalism and ensure responsible use for long-term benefit.


With projects like Kasakini Earth Dam, the county government is steadily advancing its vision of water for life, ensuring residents of Kitui enjoy reliable water access for domestic and economic use.
