Our Reporter
Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today commissioned and operationalized the newly constructed modern Kitoo Dispensary in Mutomo/Kibwea Ward in Kitui South.
This is a clear move set to shorten the distance the residents previously travelled to access the nearest health facility.
The Kitoo dispensary will provide outpatient services, maternal and child healthcare, immunizations and emergency treatment, bringing quality healthcare closer to thousands of residents who previously walked long distances in search of medical attention.
Speaking during the event, Governor Malombe reiterated his administration's commitment to ensuring timely and quality healthcare provision for all Kitui residents.
He noted that access to affordable medical services remains a top priority of his government.
Governor Malombe emphasized that no mother should lose her life while travelling long distances to deliver, and no child should miss routine immunizations due to lack of a nearby facility.
The Governor pledged to continue equipping and upgrading health facilities across the county to guarantee efficient service delivery.
The commissioning of Kitoo Dispensary is part of the county's broader strategy to decentralize healthcare services and achieve universal health coverage at the grassroots level.
Present at the event was county minister for Health Ruth Koki and Chief Officer for Medical Services Dr. Benson Musyoka as well as area MCA David Masaku.
