The initiative to empower the bodaboda operators was done under a partnership between the County Government of Kitui and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA). Speaking during the issuance ceremony at KEFRI Grounds, Governor Malombe said the initiative is designed to promote road safety, improve professionalism and accountability among riders, and enhance their livelihoods. Speaking in Mombasa during the Kitui County Executive Working Retreat held at PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa, the governor said his government has implemented 2,931 development projects across all the 247 villages and 40 wards in the county.
